Seeing our Board-Certified Satellite Med providers on your phone is easier than you think.
What is telemedicine?
Telemedicine is the use of technology to electronically exchange medical information and provide medical services to patients wherever they are. Intellectual Care's goal is to connect patients to their own Family Doctor for the most effective telemedicine experience possible.
Is telemedicine secure?
Many companies believe in storing their Protected Health Information (PHI) in the cloud. Intellectual Care is HIPAA compliant and stores all PHI on our own encrypted servers instead of the cloud. All patient and provider communication occurs within our secure portal. We will never share information with anyone without your consent first.
How does Intellectual Care's telemedicine Work?
Intellectual Care's telemedicine platform offers real-time medical consultations with Board-Certified providers which includes video-conferencing, transmission of still images, nursing call centers, EMR medical record sharing, and patient education, all over a secure network.
Can I file to my insurance?
Yes, you may file to your insurance. However, not all insurances currently reimburse for telemedicine services. If your insurance does not cover the costs, you may receive a bill from Satellite Med.
Are there any additional charges?
Only if you are referred to be seen in-person may there be additional charges. However, Satellite Med honors your iCare visit payment via our services, so if you are referred to be seen in person, your visit cost will go towards your in-person visit cost or copay.
Can I get antibiotics via Intellectual Care?
Yes; however, antibiotics aren't always the right treatment. Antibiotics fight bacterial infections in your body, but they do not treat viral infections. If the provider believes your symptoms to be viral in nature, they may choose a treatment plan that includes over-the-counter (OTC) symptom relief. Ask about putting your antibiotic on hold at the pharmacy of your choosing if your symptoms do not improve!
If I cancel my subscription before the 14 day free trial ends, am I still charged?
No, you are not charged the subscription fee if you cancel. However, each user is only credited one free trial period.
What do you mean by Family Doctor Sync?
We will contact your Family Doctor and request a secure transmission of your medical records. This allows our providers and your Family Doctor to collaborate to treat you most effectively.
What if my Family Doctor is located outside of Tennessee?
No problem! We can still connect your medical record to your Family Doctor wherever they are. All we need is your provider's name and phone number. We'll take care of the rest.
